New jogging thoughts

So a while ago I wrote about how I was jogging during lunch times at work.

Sorta ....

I went once in each of the last two weeks, and so far once this week.

Last week I had a personal record of 17ish minutes without stopping, it felt good.

Today though, I started off EXCELLENT, good stride, good speed, good rhythm and petered out a few minutes in (right after a little hill), no biggie, I just slowed the pace and kept going all the way to Bush Park. The cold felt good against the skin. I got Bush park and was on the sidewalk when I noticed a trail that a few people were jogging on above. Then I saw ahead where I can join the trail and be like "the pro's" .... I was in pace with this much older guy (I on the sidewalk and he up on the trail) ... soon I realized that he was gaining, then overtook me. By the time I reached the trail I wasn't even close enough to trip him! Not that I had trail rage or anything, but man ... I know I am no spring chicken, but DANG! At least I had a turn near the hospital ... just in case!

You can see some routes here that I do ... walk/jog/run You may need to type in the downtown zip code or search Randy.

I am hoping to go again Wednesday. I haven't been focusing on miles, but minutes out. Soon, I would like to get some reliable pedomoter and then track mileage and time them.

I had hoped to do a marathon because I had overheard that it was only about 5 miles ... well apparently that was for the kids because I had been talking with Kevin (owner of Governor's Cup) and he laughed and said it was more. (I am guessing 15 miles) .... YEAH RIGHT! Maybe some day. But not soon.

At least the Red Sox made it to the next round, plenty of opportunity to choke though.
